          The fight that seemed to earn him the most respect was the first loss to Bowe. But the first fight with Tyson, imo, was the most career defining.

            well even before the tyson fight he was pretty established. the tyson win stands high overall, but maybe that second fight with Bowe put him on the map as far as greats go. even the first fight in which he lost, he became a legend. the rematch was solid because he had a "W" on his record, but Bowe's physical condition took away from that victory. people forget but at that time Bowe was considered to be a potential "Great"

              Before the Bowe fight, many were questioning Holyfield's validity as a heavyweight, the fight answered a lot of questions but ironically, Bowe's victory was considered an upset at the time.

              But a lot of people didn't give Holyfield much of a chance before the Tyson fight and he overcame the odds to beat Tyson.
