Anyway, don't act like Collazo was a heavy hitter, and his punches seemed to be doing more damage to Ricky than Floyd's.
    ...no they didnt.
Floyd knocked Hatton out dropped him twice, and rocked him about 3 times.

Floyd is a far better puncher at 140/147 than guys like Malignaggi, Collazo, Quintana. But not on par with Judah, Cotto or Mosley. He is a sharp puncher, but not a concussive puncher.
      I'm sorry, WHAT?

Guys always say that they will walk through him, but then they never do. That makes me think that he is a better puncher than it appears.
Good call. If he was hitting a blunt object (or the PSI tester) along with a bunch of other welterweights, he probably wouldn't score very highly.

But, the combination of his blinding speed (which doesn't give the body time to tense up, or the preparation to take the punch), and his pinpoint accuracy (a punch to the chin is going to hurt more than a punch to the cheek) allows him to back people off with a relatively weak punch for the division.

It's pretty incredible to me that someone can make up for a lack of brute force with things like speed and accuracy.

Extend the bout an extra 15 seconds by holding on for dear life? Ricky didn't even throw another punch after being hit by that hook. As soon as Cortez seperated them again, the fight ended.

The first clinch session took a while, and then he moved to the another side of the ring... took a couple of punches and then finally the referee stopped it.

He was definately hurt, but this whole "put to sleep" thing is probably a bit overdone for the circumstances.

                Hatton was knocked out cold.

This is just off the top of my head

Rocked him with a left-right-left combination in the 4th.
Huge right hand in the 8th round.
Check left hook in the 8th round (the same punch that later sent him to the canvas in the 10th)
Check left hook in the 10th
Another big left hook that ended the fight.

And about 10 other right hands that Hatton ate throughout the fight that either made Hatton buckle or hold on.
