British fighters lack of success & Flawed coaching ,dont bite me head off just let me know what u think

I think the reason America produces so many great Champions is because the techniques they use & the schooling they get as fighters ,i mean in this country we have a tendency to produce fighters as apose to Boxers i mean u cant name many British fighters that do not come to fight cause most of them do but in this country we do not produce fighters like Floyd Mayweather ,James Toney ,cause our style of coaching is different we use different techniques & philosophies to produce our fighters

i personally like watching American fighters because of the style & the ring craft the defensive capabilitys they show basically i appreciate the art of Boxing , Britain produces fighters like
Hatton ,Calzaghe ,Benn ,Honeyghen ,Minter fighters who are more based around aggression workrate rather than Great Ring Generalship defence etc ,Calzaghe is a little more versatile but essentially he is an agrresive fighter IMO

i mean i dont think PBF is tougher than Hatton & i dont think he has more heart than Hatton i dont think Hatton is that much slower than Floyd but the ring craft is what puts them on 2 different levels ,British fans have a tendency to view how good a fighter is based on his Heart determination ,Aggresion & sheer toughness & this why i think Europeans get beaten more often than not when facing fighters from the US because thier styles are tailor made for that those type of fighters ,but i personally dont think they are any tougher

when u take into consideration the size of British rings there is a big emphasis on fighing rather than actaul Boxng IMO , larger rings are more conducive for Boxing & by the same token smaller rings are more conducive for punchers /fighters ,Also everybody knows how overzealous British fans can be they are not the type of crowd to sit there and appreciate a defensive fighters like a Floyd Mayweather James Toney etc ,and this is why i think we produce Fighters in this country as apose to Boxers there are rare exceptions obviously Amir Khan for example but even he is not defesively sound & he is more effective as an attacking force

its the same type of scenario in our Football /Soccer the coaches dont want slight /skinny kids with good technique they want big strong kids that can use thier strength get stuck in and put thier body on the line ,the knock on effect is producing generations of players that are uncomfortable when in possession of the football or when recieving the ball in tight situations ,when u watch the Premier League the British crowds wont let the players take the sting out of the game its attack attack attack regardless of what the score is & that i why in europe football in Britain used to be known asKick & rush football not such anymore as thier are so many imported foriegn players

Boxing in a larger rings is like learning to play football/soccer with a tennis ball it will improve that technical aspect of your game cause the situation is conducive to improve your technique ,where as smalller rings encourage telephone box fighting & does'nt require u to box in general ,im not saying get smaller rings problem solved im just pointing out that the emphasis & the philosophys on Boxing in this country are what limits the success

I'd say for a country our size were pretty successful.

I'd worry about you own country not being able to sell out big fights if i were u.

British boxing is in great shape

agree to a certain extent but to the bridge that gap from being good to being great ,we are obviously do somethng right because we have produced many World Champions recently & we are a small nation but the problem i see is at that Top end of the sport they are still falling short

Woods ,Hatton ,Rees, Hamed ,Enzo to name a few

i mean its a bit like if we continue to produce players with inferior technique like our current crop we will more than likely qualify for tournaments but we will never win & we will always be a quarter final team ,i realise we have 'nt qualified for 2008 yeah

i see our best fighters as nearly men for the same sort of reasons ,speed & skill ring craft ,defence ,movement is the best way to neutralise aggresion

You'd have to think things are changing. The amatuers are buzzing at the moment and with increased funding you'd think coaching will improve from the grass roots up.
