During last night's annual BWAA (Boxing Writers Association of America) awards dinner in Los Angeles, I spoke in detail with Leonard Ellerbe, adviser/manager for WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather Jr, on a variety of topics. Mayweather was present with a hefty entourage to receive the "2007 Fighter of The Year" award. [details]

Ellerbe: "Floyd is Knocking De La Hoya Out"

I guess Ellerbe has been hitting the local crack houses with Unca Roga, Floyd isnt knocking Oscar out, if anybody gets knocked out in this fight its Floyd, They just changed the glove ruling back to 8 ounce.

"If Oscar wants to fight Floyd again, that's on Oscar. This time it's not going the distance. I'm telling you, Floyd is knocking Oscar out," Ellerbe said. "This time there is going to be a knockout."
Let's be honest if you asked someone (assuming the fight was over but you didnt see or hear anything regarding the fight) and they told you, "its over; knockout in the (whatever) round". wouldnt you assume de la hoya won if they didnt let you know who the winner was?
I sure would.
its MUCH MUCH MUCH more believable that oscar would knock floyd out before floyd knocks out oscar.
oscar brings the power in his punches; not mayweather...im sure fighting at 147 might change oscar's power a bit but if floyd couldnt do it at 154 i dont think he can do it at 147.
unless floyd lands more than 60% of his punches; and if you base it on the first fight it wont happen...oscar is out of his prime and not quick; but his defense was decent in the first fight.
i wish ellerbe's fat ass would just shut the **** up. he has no idea what he's talking about...were not talking about mayweather v. hatton where floyd is the naturally bigger man with the height and reach advantage...
were talking about floyd v. oscar...
Oscar is a world class boxer; arguably one of the best of his generation...oscar is too wise; still too good to get knocked out by a floyd mayweather...
if oscar gets knocked out by anyone in his suspected last 3 fights (forbes; mayweather; cotto) it would be miguel cotto and probably by a left hook to the body...
mayweather isnt fighting the bum of the week or anything...ellerbe needs to keep his mouth shut and let floyd and oscar do the talking on sept. 20th

DLH has been stopped once in his career, by a natural LHW with a lucky body shot.
I'll bet some serious points that he doesn't get stopped in this fight.

Ellerbe needs to stfu and stick to rubbing Floyds shoulder in the corner between rounds.
Ellerbe is the greatest third wheel in boxing.

they say that **** before every fight, how he's gonna massacre people tear their asses up.........then he goes into the fight and backpeddals lol. sure he knocked out hatton, but ricky is not even close to oscar.
these guys are not fooling anyone, they should just stick to doing what they intended to do in the first place. winning a boring decision.

he's no kelly pavlik or wlad...he doenst have a tremendous amount of power...he left it at 135.
when floyd gets a knockout most hardcore boxing fans are a bit surprised...because its not in his style of fighting and he doesnt have the power to land those big knockouts...
the ricky hatton knockout only came to be because of two reasons...
A) floyd landed at a ridiculously high percentage (and i dont care who you are if you land at a high enough percentage anyone can get knocked down or out...see malignaggi v. ndou I...we all know paulie doesnt have any power but he got a quick knockdown of ndou after an accumulation of punches).
B) hatton's head hitting the ring post helped floyd out in my opinion. it might have not knocked hatton out but you cant say it didnt assist floyd at all...
floyd wont knock out oscar and he wont knockout miguel cotto...
best he could do is win a UD over both...
