I read on this site that this fight was tonight (May 3rd). It is acually on May 31st at Los Mochis, Mexico. Info. from espn boxing schedule.
I saw Montiel for the first time against Martin "El Gallito" Castillo on the Pavlik-Taylor 2 undercard. I was rooting for Gallito and i was sad to see him taken out so easily, I hope he can pull it together, he wasn't very impressive the fight before this one that I saw on Boxeo Tecate.
However, after seeing Montiel and Cristian Mijares in their respective fights that night, I am very anxious to see them go at it. I had seen Mijares for the first time when he gave a dreadful clinic to Jorje Arce. Mijares has an aggressive defense that I would like to model when I start learning how to box this summer.
So to recap, Montiel fights on May 31st in Mexico, but I'm not sure if it will be televised anywhere.
Mijares fights a little sooner on May 17th also in Mexico, on an independent PPV I think.
If anyone can provide sopcast or any other links closer to the fight nights for these fights I would greatly appreciate it. Problably posting a new thread on the day of would the best way to get those links out there.
