    Holyfield vs Cooper

I haven,t seen this fight for years, but still cant believe he took those uppercuts in the 7 round and never went down, I counted 7 flush uppercuts, I mean coopers chin wasn,t very good he lost 7 previous fights before that, 4 by tko and 1 by ko, he did show a lot of heart by not going down, but it makes me wonder why he ever got a title shot in the first place.

probably was short notice after somebody pulled out, guaranteed to fight his ass off and give the crowd a knockout

I think it was cuz Tyson was locked up and Holyfield wanted a tough challenger that could go some rounds but would still get beat. That was a much better fight than it was supposed to be, but Holyfield still dominated for the most part.

Yeah you guys are probably right, even though bowe already ko,d bert cooper before evander fought him, bowe still needed a couple fights under his belt before he fought a tough warrior like holyfield, I guess it was more of a lack of competition at the time.

I think Holyfield was actually training to fight Tyson and Tyson had to pull out over the legal stuff. Since he was already in training for Tyson, Holyfield decided to find a new opponent as well as have the fight in his home town of Atlanta.

I saw that fight today also on ESPN Classic, his chin looked strong in that fight, he took some really hard punches but I think if the fight wouldn't have stopped he would have been KO.

Bert Cooper gives a prime Evander Holyfield all he can handle and quits after the 2nd round against a come backing George Foreman. I found that quite odd.
