By Jake Donovan - Joel Julio outworked Ishe Smith over ten rounds to take a unanimous decision in Vancouver, British Columbia. Scores were 96-94 (2x) and 97-93 for Julio, who was the busier fighter throughout, save for a late surge by Smith (19-3, 9KO). Julio improves to 33-1 (30KO) with the win, his sixth straight. Smith loses for the second time in three fights.
In the televised co-feature, undefeated Canadian middleweight Albert Onolunose kept his record perfect with a unanimous decision over Eduardo Sanchez. Onolunose (15-0, 5KO) scored a first-round knockdown, but the scrappy Sanchez (16-7-2, 9KO) was able to last the full eight, even managing to win some rounds along the way. Final scores were 78-73 (2x) and 77-74.
