The fans complain but their also part of the problem...

Many fans complain about ducking and fighters not willing to fight everyone and what not. Many fighters once they lose fans call them (bums, overrated, not that great, over the hill, and many other derogatory things.

Fans also lose respect for the fighter after the loss and this is something that boxers don't appreciate. If fans where not the way they are then boxers would fight everyone without thinking twice.

Only ignorant people jump to callin fighters exposed or bums just cuz they lose a fight. Those people are not real boxing fans, they're haters that were waitin for an excuse to hate. I doubt any fighter refuses to fight somebody cuz he's afraid he'll be dissed by ****** people if he underperforms their expectations. It's mostly the fact that he's scared of losin period.

disagree. the reasons fans dismiss fighters who lose is because of the promoters who treat them like damage goods, a hard product to sell. how come famous UFC fighters have 3-4 losses and are STILL able to headline events?

Ultimately, the fans just want to be entertain. They want drama and excitement. True, everyone loves a winner, but everyone also likes a hero more. Especially one that comes back from adversity. Boxing promoters should learn how to cultivate a fighter that the people want to cheer even on his worst nights. Ricky Hatton is a perfect example of a fighter who can lose 2-3 more times and STILL be a star in the community.

Well the promoters go with what the public wants and once a fighter losses he loses rep and the buzz the fans had for him. Example if Cotto loses to Margarito he will lose rep and buzz that he had and ultimately he will alittle less than before.

The fans are the ones that pay Bob Arum so he will do accordingly.

Why? 1st off UFC is not boxing. 2nd of all the UFC fan is a different type of fan than that of boxing. Niow of course theirs is fans of both Boxing and UFC, but from my experiences most UFC fans that i know don't like Boxing.

Yeah that would be great but unfortunately that ain't the way it works and it's sad.

Ricky Hatton is folk legend in his country and he always have those countrymen in his pocket. Keep in mind what i said also apply's to Hatton. Hatton is not afraid of Witter but he feels that if he losses to him he will lose his reputation and buzz.

also a lot of people rate fighters to highly based on thier skill level and not enough on thier actual record

Floyd Mayweather had not fought an Elite fighter untill he beat Oscar Dela Hoya ,Corrales ,Castillo obviously good fighters not great they are not in that to top tear with Jones JR, Holyfield , Lewis , Mosley ,etc and Oscar is 30+ years old

Floyd Mayweathers record sounds good when u say how many weight divsions he has won Championships in ,but that is misleading as a top elite fighters should be capable of moving through weight divisions & indentifying weak Champions & beating them thats i why they are Elite cause they are on a different level ,Oscar Dela Hoya has lost 5 fights but he is a 6 weight World Champion

Jones Jr ,Calzaghe ,PBF most of the modern day fighters legacy is based on thier talent not thier actual record and who they have beaten ,this winning titles in different weights is the most misleading thing
