    Largest odds in boxing

Inspired by the ODH being a 20:1 favorite over Forbes.

Tyson was a 42:1 favorite over Douglas.

What are some other crazy odds?

To my knowledge Tyson vs. Douglas was the largest odds. Most Vegas bookies wouldn't even take bets on the fight.

Ali was 8 to 1 when he fought Liston and 7 to 1 when he fought Foreman.

He speaks the truth, Tyson/Douglas holds the record.

So that is the record then. I wasn't sure if that was just the largest UPSET or if there were higher odds that didn't necessarily lose.

Tye Fields 1000:1 favorite over Monte Barrett
              Tyson 6:1 over Holyfield I
And apparently the bookies opened it at 25:1

Does anybody what the odds were for Spinks first fight with Ali?

They most have been at least 20 to 1.

Really surprised it's that low. I'd figure around 100000000000000000000:1

Yeah but if the odds were any higher than 1000:1, the Nevada State Athletic Commission would refuse to sanction the fight.
