win or lose one thing is guaranteed and thats that margarito will ruin his opponent. his most recent victims are cintron and williams but the days of a margarito right hand damaging fighters goes back many many years to his days in tijuana.

cintron: has no confidence after being left in a pool of his blood and tears twice.
williams: looked like crap in next fight against quintana after feeling margaritos power in the second half of there fight.
gomez: margarito put him into retirement with a one punch first round knockout.
lujan: never the same after margarito tore his ear off.
santos: was dominated and lost his title in his very next fight after feeling margaritos power.
kyvelos: a good undefeated fighter coming up became a bum who couldnt beat journeyman after feeling margaritos power.
lewis: put into retirement by a margarito right hand.

That doesn't constitute someone's punching power as far as Marg retiring fighters. Like dude said before, that just shows Cotto has faced better and younger opponents. He beat up "Champions" (Quinatana, Pauli, Zab), not dudes with their foot halfway out the door.

Listen VIVA. As it stands, most Cotto and Margarito fans have mutual respect for both fighters. We should be applauding the fact that these two warriors are willing to get in the ring and square off, instead of making rediculous excuses of why not to fight one another.

Right on i thought we were gonna keep this respectful.Theres not much to hate about these two guys really.You put whoever in front of them because they dont duck and dodge guys and when the bell rings they start to hammer away.Theres alot of fighters who havent looked to sharp after fighting Cotto or Tony.There both heavy handed but not really one punch guys but they probably inflict more accumulative damage than any other guys in the sport and thats what wrecks your health and career.

williams was seen as an unstoppable force until he felt margaritos power. from the 7th round on williams was not the same in there fight as he started to feel the effects of margaritos big right hands. i give williams credit for not going down from those vicious punches but the effects were very clear in the quintana fight. right from the start you could see williams was not the same factor who threw 100+ punches a round and he seemed to have less stamina. watch every fighter that has felt margaritos power and in there next fight they are clearly not the same fighter anymore.
