JOE CALZAGHE is set to give up his WBC super-middleweight title because he doesn't want to fight Carl Froch, who has been named as his mandatory challenger.
The champ is not interested in facing the unbeaten Nottingham fighter and is expected to relinquish the belt to pursue a showdown with Roy Jones Junior or Kelly Pavlik.
Froch was made the No.1 challenger for the WBC crown after Dennis Inkin pulled out of their eliminator in Nottingham on May 10, claiming he was injured.
The Cobra is now expected to face former IBF champion Alejandro Berrio on the bill that also features Junior Witter's WBC light-welterweight title defence against Timothy Bradley
