He has more chance at 37 as a puncher in LH's than he will be a defensive mover.
good luck to the bloke.. i always enjoyed watching his fights at heavy, not sure why tho haha.

I've been hoping for years to see Byrd come down to Cruiser or LH. At that weight, he's quick, slick, and has power to spare. He's one of the few I'd pick to beat Calzaghe at LH. I think he'd take the current RJJ, too. My only concern is how the weight came off. He looked emaciated when I saw him after coming down. Hopefully, he'll have time to get used to it before he gets into the ring with someone dangerous.

Your power is the very last thing to go. The very last. Foreman, at nearly 60 years, probably still has most of the power he did at half that age.

Also, Byrd has moved down 2 weight classes. That's why fighters usually stay in the lowest weight class they possibly can....to maximize their power. It'd be like me dropping from 215 to 180 and fighting my oldest kid. I'm twice as strong as he is, and dropping 35 pounds won't change that much. If anything it'll make it worse. I'll be a little faster, and I'll be really pissed off....I get angry when I don't get to eat.
