Not if the boxing commision doesn't force the fight to happen.

Both Margarito and Cotto have defeated some of the best opposition at WW. Mayweather, as of right now, has only defeated one top welter (Zab Judah). It's Mayweather the one who should be proving himself at WW before Margarito or Cotto should accept a fight with him. But since half of sport talk by fans is now about money...

I'm thinking a few fights ahead here.

So it sounds that the Cotto-Margarito winner will get the winner of Mayweather-DLH. Where does the winner of Mosley-Judah come into play? Who will he fight? Cos I know Mosley is fighting Judah to give reason to his rematch with Cotto.. and if he DOES win, Cotto will be occupied with the winner of DLH-Mayweather. Confusing list. Sorry.

So I'm assuming that Mosley, if Mosley is the winner, is going to take on the loser of Cotto-Margarito, assuming Cotto wins, is a possible match-up of Margarito-Mosley ?

        I'm really confused - you haven't noticed.

Edit: Oh yeah, I just remember reading and hearing in an interview he would like a rematch with Cotto - I haven't actually heard from any source that a rematch with Cotto is his ultimate goal.

Fight of the year I'm not sure.. All you need for a FOY is one or both of the guys wobbling around a bit or getting knocked down, and then beating on each other like a couple of drunks outside a bar at 2:15am.

Generally you need both. Hopefully Cotto can drop Margarito with a body shot or something because if he can't - Cotto himself will be the only one making this into a FOY situation as he gets battered up like some frog legs.

And another thing I wonder - Where does DLH go (for his last fight) if he loses to Mayweather? He said his last fight will be with the best in the business, who he stated himself was Cotto and that he wanted Cotto in December. Do you think Cotto will take on a bigger payday and hold off on Floyd for DLH?

For some reason.. I just see DLH taking on Mosley for a third time.

              **** - could I ask anymore questions?

De la Hoya speaks about fighting Cotto every time he wants to get a front page quote on a Puertorican newspaper. Like recently, with the upcoming Forbes fight. What were the articles about? DLH explaining he's fighting Forbes and then Mayweather. Free publicity.

OK. But I'm wondering after Mayweather. I know his next two fights. I'm wondering about his last.

Floyd reminds me of one of those bad guy/heel character wrestlers in the WWE. Where the heel champion doesn't wanna defend his title against anybody but then the comissioner/general manager who calls all the shots forces him to defend his title.

Unfortunately that stuff doesn't exist in boxing. When you got it made like Mayweather and you've acomplished so much that you don't need any sanctioning body titles to force you into mandatory fights or promoters to tell you who to fight or when to fight.........you're independent.

Floyd is like an Music Artist on a independent record label, performing at concerts at his pace.
