You have to respect Vasquez as a Champion. He defended his title i don't know how many times. But i do recall that there were talks of Vasquez v. Norris but that never happened.
Vasquez beat Winky clearly with them knock downs. Credit to Winky he was still in the fight. During the time of this fight Winky had not adapted the Peek-A-Boo Style he is known for now. He was an offensive boxer minded fighter first.
Boundin did get beat by Reid, Reid dominated him in a good fight. I only have partial of this fight on video.
Keith Mulling beat Norris but Norris was past his best already. And Mullings had already been beaten by Raul Marquez. Reid fought Mullings i think defended his title against him as Winky i belive also defended against Mullings. I think Mulings was just a tough top contender he was an in fighter tough type of boxer.
Sweet Pea dominated Vasquez, but that doesn't take away from the fact that Vasquez was Champion for a long time. He was a bruser, with a good chin. I didn't see him fight much, but i recall boxing people respect him as a Champion.Comment

Vazquez was one of the better 154 pound champions of the last handful of years. Rugged southpaw with a good chin and punching power in the left hand. He was particularly effective with the straight left hand.
Whitaker just completely outfoxed him on the inside and out boxed from range with the jab. A good win for Whitaker considering Vazquez was a strong, accomplished Light Middleweight champion.
Vazquez had some good wins though.
Wright
Trice (even though he was a bit past it)
Daniels (great comeback)
Davis
Castillejo
Pretty good work from the Argentinian.Comment

I'm kind of shocked that you think Whitaker dominated Vasquez. You are the one who had Ramirez beating Whitaker in their first fight.
I am shocked at the prospect of you thinking Whitaker dominated anyone. His style just seems to be the anti of what you look for in scoring fights.Comment

Whitaker dominated quite a few of his fights when he was in his prime.I'm definately not trying to start a flame war, but...

He didn't dominate Vazquez though, I rewatched the fight after I saw this thread yesterday.Comment
