IMO he is the next Don King / Bob Arum. I mean he loses to Shane, and now Shane is with Golden Boy. He loses to Bernard, now he is with Golden Boy. He loses to Floyd via SD (coincidence?), and Floyd's next fight is Co-Promtoed by Golden Boy, and now there is gonna be a rematch with Floyd to make ALOT more money again. It just seems to me that he'll take a loss to take a BIG FINANCIAL GAIN.

Wouldn't Oscar winning those fights have made him more money than losing them?

I agree it wouldn't make sense to lose a fight in that fasion. First off for your legacy and how you would think in a few years that you lost what you loved doing for money. Winning the fights would still make him a lot of money. Plus it would still make his promotion big and probobly even bigger. The opponents he lost to were top class opponents. Mosley twice, Hopkins, Trinidad, Mayweather all of these guys aren't guys you can just expect to win easy against

in the short term, but in the long run he is making money off of each one of the others fighters fights, and getting big names as business partners so hid company can be and wil be bigger than any other which in long terms means lots of money over a long period of time. If he wins it means only a few million dollars more over a 1-3 year period.

Oscar's motto is "if you can't beat them, sign them".

I doubt they're pre-arranged. Some of his fights have very questionable scoring, but that's commonplace anyway.

Man i have to disagree with you on this one, no way can someone say de la hoya doesent give it all hes got in every single one of his fights, the dude gets in the ring to win. But have you seen some fights from other guys where it is totally obvious that they are fixed? I cant believe my eyes when I can catch the bad acting. I mean thats BS because the guy that is supposed to loose prolly doesent even train.

I enjoy bashing the Golden Fishnet, but I think this is off-base. If we're going to go by official scorecards, yeah he lost to Trinidad, but got the decisions over Whitaker and Quartey.

His fights with guys like Hernandez, Ruelas, Chavez, and Vargas were all important when they happened.

I thought Oscar pulled it out against Whitaker. I haven't seen the Quartey fight in a while, so I won't comment on that.
