Joan Guzman-Alex Arthur To Get June Date

WBO super featherweight champion Joan Guzman's title defense against mandatory Alex Arthur will be rescheduled to a date in June. The fight was previously scheduled to take place on May 3, but promoters had to scramble to reschedule the fight after Guzman was unable to secure a visa to travel to Edinburgh. [details]

Arthur isn't even all that popular in Scotland, this fight should be in bright lights in Vegas. But credit to Warren for securing the challenger home advantage. In any case I think Guzman has too much for this guy, but it might not be all plain sailing as Joan often takes rounds off, gets lazy, and Arthur is very big at the weight (and can whack)

Guzman has been getting d**ked on promotion and exposure to be so talented. Manny ran from him. And he doesn't appear to be doing anything else with his career. Hope his finances are in order.

He needs to try to get a fight of importance to happen. He's a very, very solid fighter but he isn't getting any younger.

there isn't something extraordinary about joan guzman. he is plainly the dancer-runner-turned boxer. if only barrera or marquez dare to fight him, he will certainly get the beating of his life.

if valero's foes were "tricycle" drivers, guzman's were restaurant chefs.

i respect your opinion, but i beg to differ..

guzman is the real deal.. why doesnt manny pac fight him?

arum is keeping pacquiao as far away as possible.. guzman is the 2nd most skilled fighter in boxing today IMO. u cant hit him clean.. hes got a good chin.. blazing fast..

he can makes some major moves at 135 if he goes up

Guzman got his visa 1 DAY LATE! And the fight wasnt even for a week still. Now it went from May 3 to June!!??! This is wack. Guzman is promoted terrble. Word is that Sycuan is in talks with Top Rank and sharing Guzman. Golden Boy didnt help him thats for sure.

To the guy who said Guzman fought "restaurant chefs", Javier Jauregui is a tough veteran, Jorge Barrios is a bad as$, and Humberto Soto is one hell of a fighter. Thats decent comp right there.
