Sr I believe 100%. I know he wants to be the one to humble his son.

Oscar is his only real chance so he is going to push Oscar as hard as he can

Wow! to be honest with you Oscar has done no different with this sport than what Floyd is doing with it now. Bottom line is the man is hated on for what? making big money in this sport and for getting a couple close decisons.
Wake up people this is boxing he has also lost a couple decisions he won. and about his terms and his demands, well you have to admit he was the cash cow in the sport, when your in the drivers seat you get to decide when and where you want to turn how fast you want to go, what radio station to listen to etc...

You are kinda right. Right after I saw Countdown to De La Hoya/Forbes, I actually caught interest in a De La Hoya/Mayweather rematch. But all this is some soap opera ****. De La Hoya can't win an important fight to save his life.

Difference between Oscar and Floyd is, Oscar is willing to face the BEST while making a nice paycheck at the same time. Even now that he's practically retired and on his way out of the sport, he has his sights set on fighting both Floyd and Cotto. One thing u cant question is the mans heart!

Nobody can question De La Hoyas heart, he has faced all of them the very best in the sport. The hate against him simply stems from the last three rounds against Tito.
Since then the public has just hated on the man, but since then the man has stood in there and and grinded it out in every fight since then nobody seems to notice that.
However those same people who hate, might have them selves another reason to hate on DLH after his rematch with Floyd.

I don't know how many of you saw the countdown to Oscar/Forbes, but I could hear it in Oscar's voice and Mayweather, Sr's voice that THEY REALLY WANT TO DEFEAT FLOYD JR! However, I think this is MORE personal than business. Big Floyd wants to be the one to humble his son and his has to do it through Oscar. On the other hand, I know the mindset of Roger & Jr. They are both at odds with Sr and they will go harder than ever for this fight (if Stevie doesn't win, go Jeff Mayweather!).

Can you imagine the drama and controversy for the 24/7 to this fight? We know that sells in America. I know the MAJORITY of NSB posters dont want to see the fight again (I am included, same outcome, Floyd victory), but it will MAKE a killing and once the 24/7 series is over, many people who said that they would NOT watch this fight, will find themselves tuning in...IMO...DIG IN...
I agree with you on most of what you said.

i said basically the same thing awhile ago.

I believe Oscar doesnt want just a payday...i think he feels like he still needs to prove himself in order to cement his legacy and to be honest his legacy has already been written. However its a good sign that one of the most popular and richest fighters of this era wants to go out on top.

Even though we know this fight will make money (and oscar knows it too) it looks like its more than a payday...especially since he talks about IF he beats mayweather he wants the winner of cotto v. margarito...

he said IF he wins...that seems to show me he wants more than the money; he wants to beat the best of today and im glad to see that.

i think if he really was trying to cash out he'd fight the winner of margarito/cotto FIRST, either would be (stylewise) EASIER for oscar to deal with than floyd...and in my opinion neither margartio NOR cotto could counterpunch better than oscar (well maybe a prime oscar at least).

so by fighting and beating one of the them first he rasies his stock for the floyd fight FURTHER...cashes out on the floyd fight to end his career and robs everyone...but he didnt go that route and its a good thing to see.

I think mayweather will more than likely win but i will be pulling for oscar; especially after seeing him in the last fight...he came REAL close to winning...

hopefully floyd sr can get his stamina and endurance back a little bit...

oscar's a good guy who's given us great fights over the years and he kind of deserves to go out on top in a sense.
