    What If...

In the spirit of The Ring's articles a few issues back, on what would have happened in certain scenarios, I decided I'd resurrect the idea, and see what you guys thought about other circumstances that the Ring didn't mention, and how they might have played out. I'll start, and the next person should say what they think, then give a new scenario, and so forth.

    What if...Richard Steele didn't stop Taylor-Chavez I?

Taylor would be the rightful champ.

What if Mike Tyson didn't go to prison?

Lewis would have gotten the credit he deserved much sooner.

What if De La Hoya had fought Kostya Tszyu during his brief stay at 140?

Oscar beats Tszyu by clear cut decision, perhaps TKO victory while Oscar outboxes and outclasses him.

What if... Bernard Hopkins had moved to 168 or 175 and not held the Middleweight Belts for 10 years?

He would not be nearly as highly regarded as he is now, because the 20 defenses is his fallback argument for his greatness. He might have made up for it with a step up in competition at the higher weights instead of having Robert Allen on his record three times.

What if Castillo got decision over Mayweather in the first fight?

Floyd would use his shoulder injury as a legit excuse, but I think remain more classy about it and say that Jose beat him, then come back to once again dominate him in the rematch. However, Floyd would perhaps have ended up taking more chances and risks being that once a fighter's protected 0 is gone, they've not much more to worry about.

What if... Vernon Forrest never beat Shane Mosley?

Vernon Forrest would be an absolute nobody. Shane Mosley might have stayed at 147 and dominated for a while until he lost a rematch to Oscar De La Hoya. He then would have fought a third fight and probably would have lost again, moving up to 154 and losing to Wright twice. Pretty much the same IMO.

What if Roy Jones Jr. stayed at heavyweight after beating John Ruiz? (Don't put Tarver would be a nobody, that's a given )

Roy would've fought Vitali Klitschko and lost by KO in the later rounds.
