    Amir Khan sacks Oliver Harrison

According to British Newspaper News of The World Amir Khan Has split with Trainer Oliver Harrison and is looking to Hook up with an American trainer including Freddie Roach, Buddy McGirt and Roger Mayweather. He is reported to having a deadline of June 21st when he next fights in Birmingham.

This seems foolish on Khans' part as he seemed to be progressing nicely uinder Harrison's tutoring. That being said he recently meet Mayweather Jr. and co. at their training camp and he is reportedly a big fan of Freddie Roach also.

Do you think he is doing this to get more recognition in the USA? or he is impatient with his career's progress? Or he just thought Harrison has taken him as far as he could. The older he gets the more he is turning into Prince Naseem Hamed in my opinion!

All of a sudden I got a feeling Amir is going to become a "bad boy".

He's trying to copy Floyd already.

He recently sparred with with Floyd Jnr and trained with Roger Mayweather.

I guess he felt they had more to offer in terms of training compared to Oliver Harrison.

I think it's a good move by Khan

great decison by Khan if its true Harrison looks to have taken him as far as he can IMO he has'nt really improved Khan defence & he still makes mistakes that a better fighters will capatalise on

id take Buddy McGirt on he is a great trainer IMO

Amir can't become a bad boy, that kid has too much expectation on his shoulders to be a good role model in his politically precarious position as a Britsh ******.

He's a nice guy, but the pressure on him is intense. Like Haye can rubbish Klitschko Amir will never be able to do that to anyone.

It will only be a good move if he stays and trains exculsively in America. I can't see that happening as he is too big a draw in britain! he is still young and relatively inexperienced so he needs a trainer who can concentrate solely on him and work with him consistently. Hoping across the pond every few weeks won't cut it at this level!

Good move IMO. His current team have no reputation and seem like a bunch of yes men, they have no authority over him. I'm sure Amir has already learned all he can from Harrison.

Shocked when I read it this morning. Khan is definitely trying to progress quickly and if he does, he needs the top trainers.
