when he fo benard. hopkins was the pound for pound king and legittmate middleweight champ. He won all four belts and then took a rematch with hopkins. he then goes right after winky wright who is another top ten p4p guy. He then fights a tough kassium ouma and the slickest boxer in the world cory spinks. Then he fights pavlik twice in brutal fights. this guy deserves a tune up. he should have taken one after the secon hopkins fight. fight vera jermain get a knock out win. it's been a while.

Taylor probably needs a breather. He's had a tough run. More importantly he just needs a win.

Thats pathetic, but im sure it wasn't Taylor who picked him. Vera's a tough dude, but i hope he gets KO'd early so he doesn't take to much punishment.

says the guy who has abraham in is sig fighting weaker opponents than taylor.. AA is the definition of a protected champ who by the way, didnt fight for the title.. its really suppose to be kellys but jermiane had some problems with his IbF belt(?) and didnt pay sanctioning fees.. therefore being stripped..

Taylor just needs to get a win behind him, and Vera is perfect for that.

The most important key about the sweet science of boxing is mental. Boxing is 90% mental and 10% physical. Taylor had two tough losses a knock out and a UD to the same fighter. He has to take a fight to regain confidence. When a boxer is mentally defeated he is physically defeated. If you kill the brain the body stops functioning. Just like roy jones' Taylor needs to fight in the shadows dominate a few tune-up fighters and go back to fight a contender. Also Taylor made a big mistake swapping trainers. As a pro boxer myself it is important to build a relationship with the man that trains you. look at the best prize fighters, they all have the same trainers (ex. Jones jr., Calzaghe, Mayweather jr., Cotto, Margarito, Mosley) You cant let just anyone be behind the wheel, because you will crash in the end. Taylor made a smart decision going back to his former trainer. even though he lost he still looked great against pavlik. just like in the first fight fatigue set in and also mentally taylor was scared of pavliks straight right hand, so it made him cautious. I'm confdent taylor will rebuild his career and it starts with vera. I believe he should fight 3 tune-up bouts and take a shot at one of the top super middlewieights, like Miranda. that would make an interesting match.

When you look at it... Taylor has fought alot of Big names already and 2 likely hall of Famers with one being a boxing legend. And one that has yet to be decided as anything (Pavlik)

He's young... and has a Great Resume on hand already.

                Your right...He Deserves a break...

But I hope Brian Vera doesn't make Taylor Stink it up in this fight.

After Taylor KO's Vera, I would like to see Taylor vs Miranda, these guys still have bad blood and unfinished business...I'll take Taylor by UD over Miranda in an exciting fight.
                  agree with this post!!!!!

please stfu, taylor fought pavlik, and bhop 2x. winky wright. taylor could stop now and abraham will never eclipse the opposition taylor has fought. this thread is not about your man, fanboy! grow up, and face reality. your boy has been protected and is vastly overrated.

AA's last opponent Elvin Ayala is 0-2-1 against contender fighters, so Vera would actually be a higher level of competition for AA if he where to fight him next.
