There's no possible way you could know after this month imo. Dawson and Calzaghe didnt impress enough, and Tarver faced the weak link of the title holders.

      2-2, right?
Technically, but not at light heavy. Hop and Jones didn't fight at light heavy, neither did Hop and Johnson, hence the 1-1.

Another thing Hop's fighting those guys so long ago makes me discount it in a way.

I guess the point is, seems like we are awarding Joe C the crown based on one fight and I am not so sure that is fair. Same thing with Hop beating Tarver, so that's why it's hard for me to figure this out.

Easy question! Joe Calzaghe is the top light heavyweight.

calzaghe just had one fight at 175 pounds. and it was against a 43 year old guy who had just 2 light heavyweight fights at that weight. all joe's other fights have been at 168 pounds. how does one fight at light heavyweight limit automaticly make him the best guy in the division?

            answer that please

              LOL

You don't know how to think..

Slapping and karate-chopping his way past blind judges in the Hopkins fight doesn't put him over Dawson..

If you want to see what REAL Lt Heavies look like..

              Check out that Dawson/Johnson fight..

Those guys were throwing some serious artillery..

Joe would have been KO'd by the breeze coming off those shots..LOL

cause bhop whooped tarver who was the lineal champ and bhop whooped glen who made dawson look ****.
Then comes calzaghe to whoop bhop who was the man at light heavy so there basically.

According to the Boxing Scene rankings Zsolt Erdei is the lineal WBO champ, so he's considered the champ.

b-hop beat glen johnson in 1997, 11 years later you think Glen Johnson is still the same green fighter? weak arguement

yes tarver was the champ who beat a faded champ convincingly. but hopkins was way too experienced for tarver with 24 fights. he beat good fighters but i picked the seasoned veteran like hopkins to beat tarver. which is what pretty much happened

but it's also same as saying that Roy Jones was the best heavyweight (many people said that) cuz he had one fight there and beat ruiz. that would make roy the best man next to a guy like Lennox Lewis cuz he beat a champ whom a guy like holyfield beat once in three fights???

joe needs to have more fights at 175 pounds against younger guys who can match his workrate and beat some legit champs of that division. then he'll be the best, now he's just a guy who beat a 43 year old Hall of Famer who probably wont fight again.....big deal

good win but not the kind of win that gives you legit stats.
