Calling that fight "entertaining as ****" is pretty nice, when there were 2 exciting rounds and the rest was very tactical, with a lot of staring.

The knockdown didn't seal ****, you still have to be generous to DLH for him to win that fight. Say you're nice and give him 3 of the first 5 rounds (it can easily by 3-2 Ike or 2-2-1). Ike wins round 6 when both guys go down, as he controlled the round after the KDs. DLH did **** all offensively from rounds 7 through 9, despite Foreman claiming "not much is a lot for Oscar De La Hoya". DLH won none of the rounds from 6 thru 9. DLH needs to win the next 3 rounds to win the fight, and giving him the 11th round is very iffy.

As to the subject, for the controversial decisions:

    Whitaker: Draw
    Quartey: Quartey won
    Trinidad: De La Hoya won
Mosley II: De La Hoya won. Mosley was on steroids too.
    Sturm: Sturm won

Again, bitching about close fights 10 years after they took place is nothing short of insanely ******ed.

Oscar fought the best, was ultra-competitive in all of them, won some he should have lost, lost some he should have lost and got spanked in the one he should have won.

That makes no sense, but who cares?

People like to discuss controversial decisions and whatnot.

Hell, a lot people still argue Hagler-Leonard from 1987. Controversial fights do that, people still debate them many years later.

Drew with Whitaker (he got the decision)
Lost to Quartey (he got the decision)
Pissed away the last 3 rds and still beat Trinidad (he lost the decision)
Beat Mosley in the rematch (he lost the decision)
Lost to Sturm (he got the decision)
Lost to Mayweather (he lost the decision)

I only agreed with the Mayweather outcome. Curious about everybody else's thoughts.
              I had:

              Beating Whitaker by 1 point
              Beating Quartay by 2 points
              Beat Trinidad
              Beat Mosely in rematch
              Lost to Sturm
              Lost to Mayweather

It's not being sheep, it's just what people do on boxing boards. Discuss and debate current boxing and boxing history.

If you take away the 12th round, Quartey/DLH is nearly like Mayweather/DLH. Quartey swept 8-11 with clean punches while Oscar just posed and occasionaly threw a flurry.

I thought Oscar got the better of Mosley when I saw it years ago. And I had him beating Whitaker even though it's a very tricky fight to score.

The Whitaker fight was a pain to score. I don't know how people can honestly say that was a "robbery" when the rounds were so close with most punches missing.

That was a fight that could've gone either way.

Quartey also won rounds 6 and 7. Round 10 was probably an Oscar round. That was one of the easier fights to score among DLH's controversial decisions.

DLH's been in a lot of close debatable/controversial decisions, but not as many as James Toney.

                      Mike McCallum 1 and 2
                      Reggie Johnson
                      Montell Griffin 1 and 2
