Joachim Alcine vs. Daniel Santos on July 5

Former two-division champion Daniel Santos (31-3-1, 22KOs) will finally land a crack at WBA junior middleweight champ Joachim Alcine (30-0, 19KOs). Santos told El Nuevo Dia that July 5 has been as the date of the fight. He stopped Jose Antonio Rivera last October to land the title opportunity. The fight will take place in Alcine's backyard of Montreal, Canada. [details]

        i like an upset here

i think santos can pull of the upset. Don't forget he beat marrgirto and stomped out jose rivera to geta shot at the belt. Two of his three defeats where close calls over seas in his opponents backyard. He may have really only lost one fight in his career. I can't cay didn't see those fights. I think santos is the next winky wright or vernon forrest. The guy who nobody talks about until he's among the elite of the sport. A win over alcin could send him on that path but i'll have to just wait and see on july 5. I could be wrong but thats rare.the only way i see daniel not bringing the belt back home to purto rico is another hometown decision. The fight is in alcine backyard. lets hope the judges arn't three blind mice.
