who's the better trainer ?
Enzo vs Atlas

Enzo.
Atlas is the most overrated trainer in the history of the sport.
His whole reputation as a "great motivator" is based on one fight in which Moorer didn't even fight with more passion and fire after Atlas begged him to. Watch the fight in full (instead of an HBO Legendary Nights episode) and you'll see Moorer sleepwalk even after Atlas's pleas. Moorer also showed way more passion and fire in fights before Atlas and after Atlas as well.
What other pro fighters did Atlas actually have success with?
Enzo, with no boxing background, trained his son to be a long reigning world champ and one of the top fighters in the sport. -
Teddy had a lot to do with Tyson in his youth, Teddy was his head trainer from Mike was about 12 untill he was 17.Comment

I pick Teddy Atlas on this one.
I think teddy is NOT one of the most overrated trainers in the sport.
I actually think teddy is a very smart boxing mind.
He worked with tyson as a youth (helping him mold into the fighter he became), worked with moorer, etc.
I like Teddy Atlas as a trainer because of his wisdom.
He doesnt just tell you to use your jab and stay outside...he gives you a specific roadmap and gameplan to systematically beat your opponent.
he goes that extra mile that i see many trainers dont do.
he loves the sport and it shows.
someone should bring teddy back to training more often. he does wonders in my opinion.Comment

The advantage Enzo had with Joe is he had a very talented pupil who fully trusted him and followed his orders from day one.
Not so sure, Teddy Atlas had that kind of chance with anyone. Moorer is sometimes a head case.
Teddy is a great boxing mind. He does suffer by telling you every single thing that is in that mind non-stop. If ever there is a reason for occasional dead air,
it's Teddy. The man never shuts up for a minute. That's gotta grate on some people.
It's really hard to tell who's a great trainer. I think there are a lot of them.
I don't think either of these guys went to a fight with a bad game plan whereas people like Steward have quite a few times.
Ultimately though, it's up to the boxer to adjust as the fight is happening something people like Mayweather do brilliantly. I sometimes wonder how much that has to do with the trainer making changes on the fly or the boxer figuring things out himself. Seems to be the latter in many cases.Comment

Atlas always gets in fights with his boxers because he is a total control freak. He is lucky to have found a job where he gets his ass kissed and his ego can run wild.Comment

How Moorer didn't listen to him when Atlas begged him to fight with more passion? (Moorer did fight with a lot of fire in fights before and after Atlas).
How Moorer didn't listen to him and got KO'd by Foreman?
Which fighters did Atlas train as a pro that actually did really well with Atlas in the corner, and showed more heart and determination with Atlas in the corner?
Atlas is the possibly the most overrated trainer ever, thanks to HBO's Legendary Nights.
Aaron "Put the Condom on the Eye" Snowell > Teddy Atlas.
At least Snowell had success with a few pro fighters.Comment
