Gamboa has suffered from a similar type of matchmaking where the opponent isn't good enough to fight at the top level, but is good enough to make you look bad and to survive the full 12. The difference is that **** shouldn't be on HBO. Although, Gamboa tends to just give up, while Fortuna continually tried to press the action.

There's some truth in what you're saying. I'll just add that Gamboa tends to lay back when he sees he can't KO his opponent. Fortuna was pressing against Franco, but he also knew Luis couldn't hurt him. I doubt he would try that with Yuri who can crack his jaw.

Franco had no power, and had success with his stick-and-spoil tactic. It's not like he wasn't winning rounds either. All the clinching wasn't entirely his fault either. Fortuna needs to fight someone who has confidence in their power.

Some guys want everyone to fight the same way. Not everyone has power, not everyone has skills, etc. Smart athletes do their best with what nature gave them. To expect Franco to go toe to toe with a big puncher like Fortuna is crazy. It's also crazy to expect Luis to fight like Mayweather, dodge punches and pick Javier apart. These things are beyond Franco's abilities. Luis fought a smart, effective fight. It wasn't very pretty, but it gave Franco a shot at an upset.

Does anyone know why Max Kellerman doesn't do FNF? He has a radio show with ESPN and has appeared on First Take and other ESPN shows.

Is it in his HBO contract that he can't do any boxing telecasts for other networks?

I think it would be dope to have him do a telecast with Teddy and ***** on him.
