even if dzinziruk wasn't landing people would still think he was winning. just look at judah-matthysse, williams-martinez 1 or hopkins calzaghe. some people simply don't care about quality punches. they just look at the "flow" of the fight or some other cop-out explanation to justify sh-itty scoring.Comment

Along with effective aggression and punches landed, ring generalship and defense are boxing criteria. While landing the greater number of clean, hard shots is of paramount importance, the other factors do count. I didn't make this up. I don't score for footwork, since it's not part of scoring criteria, it just so happens that good footwork is one of the hallmarks of good boxers, and good boxers tend to beat bad boxers.I wasnt scoring either but i think i gave Dzin only 3, 4 and 9.
My "bias" is that fancy footwork does not win fights, effective punching does. If your game is a light puncher who only jabs, you cant win fights when the other guy is landing bombs on you all night. Good footwork is not even part of scoring, yet people seem to give fighters rounds for "good footwork"Comment

I was going to highlight some stuff, but everything you're saying is on target, so there's no point. lolThat is the thing about scoring, it isn't that black and white anyone that takes it as such is missing the ball. There is always some variance between how people will score, even highly trained judges will not score exactly the same it is just impossible.
Like if you put 100 people in separate rooms and make them score fights watching as close as possible, no matter the fight people will have vastly different scores and some people will always have each guy winning no matter how wide some think it is.
Also like I said I don't really score fights anymore because I find it dumb and ruins talking fights for me, because I enjoyed this fight and now I am kind of irritated.Comment

You said that he outlanded him every round but the 9th but there were only 22 punches difference between the two guys and D was landing at 28% while Vera was at 24%. That means that at best, Vera landed 3 more punches every single round through the 7th. The statistics indicate that there were rounds that D actually landed more in. The difference in punches landed only came from the one or two flurries where Vera had D trapped in the corner. The stats say the Vera threw a bunch of punches and only landed a few more than Dzinz.Comment

And which of those did Dzin have? You cant have any of those when the other guy is out landing you with much harder effective punchesAlong with effective aggression and punches landed, ring generalship and defense are boxing criteria. Being on the back foot also is not ring generalship.Comment

A lot of Vera's punches indeed landed when Dzin was (willingly, SMH) in a corner. All of Sergei's punches landed as he was sticking the jab in Brian's face while making Vera miss at the same time. You said that he outlanded him every round but the 9th but there were only 22 punches difference between the two guys and D was landing at 28% while Vera was at 24%. Had Vera up 1 round but he was getting sloppy and outboxed when Dzinz was using the jab. Dzinz would land 15 punches and then Vera lands a decent right...I'm not giving a round like that to Vera. If that first KD counted for Vera then that one for Dzinz should have counted too but that didn't matter in the end.even if dzinziruk wasn't landing people would still think he was winning. just look at judah-matthysse, williams-martinez 1 or hopkins calzaghe. some people simply don't care about quality punches. they just look at the "flow" of the fight or some other cop-out explanation to justify sh-itty scoring.Comment

And those arent the exact number, just estimates of how i remember them. The punch stats were also thru 6 round so thats almost an average of 4 more punches landed an average per round. And they werent pitty patty jabs either, they were usually power punches to the face
Anyway this is not the amateurs were its only punches landed. Vera's bombs were the effective punchesComment
