Dude, Vera is a caveman. He was missing a whole lot more than he was landing. Dzinziruk was outboxing him whenever he decided to keep off the ropes. What Brian had going for him is that when he landed, he did damage. Power counts, but landing punches does also. It has to be balanced. You obviously place very high value on a good shot. That fight was close. If it wasn't for the first, the fight might've been in Sergei's favor.

I think the Martinez loss ruined him personally. Never got knocked down even once as a pro then takes 5 KD's in one fight. To become almost 40-0, you have to have skill regardless of who you are fighting. I mean it's not like he fought complete cans his whole career.
I just noticed a dramatic decline after that Martinez fight...whether it was the loss or not, he declined after that fight.Comment

I second that. Come on mathed, it was only 500M lol
For all of Vera's deficiencies, he has Rios-type determination. That kind of fighter remains dangerous until the final bell. Dzinziruk doesn't belong at MW, isn't great defensively and isn't built to go toe-to-toe. Dzinzi looked like Bute as he retreated to the ropes, very bad habit against a pressure fighter.Last edited by kiaba360; 01-25-2013, 11:25 PM.Comment

Its not punches that missed that win fights, its the ones that land. Vera landed more and they were MUCH harder and more effective.Dude, Vera is a caveman. Ok i agree with you landing punches counts too, and Vera landed more, probably way more
Vera landed more shots and the better shots, what more do you need to win a fight?Comment

well he should have lost to konecy but he was "undefeated" in spirit. also it is amazing that a guy who is physically unable to move his head was never knocked down until he fought martinez.I think the Martinez loss ruined him personally. He was ruined before Sergio AKA not that good. Anybody who followed him before Sergio knows he's decent, and thats where it endsI think the Martinez loss ruined him personally.
