POLL: David Haye Vs. Wladimir Klitschko

If Haye comes in at around 230 or so, like you're predicting, the speed he displays at cruiser won't be there. He'll still be one of the quicker heavyweights, but not much faster than Wlad, if at all. You can't put on that kind of weight and not pay for it. On the sunny side, he'll pick up a bit of power, and will be healthier and more solid, which means he should be able to take a bigger punch, too.
All things considered, I don't see him with any chance of beating Klitchko right now. He fights low, keeps his hands low, doesn't jab his way in, and doesn't through enough combinations, but rather chooses to do alot of headhunting (a direct result of falling in love with his power). The guy has the tools to be highly competetive (speed, power, size, talent), but it remains to be seen whether he'll learn to use them or not. If he doesn't dramatically change his style, he'll be brain damaged the first time he gets into the ring with a big experienced fighter with a decent chin and some firepower. Right now, I think Lamon Brewster would eat his ass within 2 rounds. Ray Mercer would give him big problems, too, and Ray is very old.Last edited by Stickman; 05-29-2008, 10:44 AM.Comment

I'm almost certain Wlad will win, but Haye has a 10% punchers chance.
Haye would have NO chance whatsoever against Vitali though.Comment

Before his first retirement, I would have agreed with you, however Vitali hasn't taken repeated hits since his return, Also I have a sneaking su****ion his body will not be able to take too many hits, I think an active power puncher would give Vitali problems nowadays.Comment

Wlad completely dominated and KO'd Rahman and Thompson
Haye was knocked down, pushed around and hurt by washed up shot gatekeeper Monte Barrett in his last fight.
If light hitting washed up shot Barrett can knockdown and hurt Haye....just imagine what Wlad will do to him.
Easy KO win for WladComment
