Long layoff being best part of 3 and a half years. Thats an exceedingly long time to go without being in the ring for a boxer. Im sure the Dr has remaineed in good shape tho so i cant see his durability being too much of a factor. Cant see him getting KO'd either. He took some serious bombs in the lewis fight...SERIOUS i tell you! and walked straight through the ****ers

Although his face told a different story

Wlad(and his camp) thinks like us. I mean it IS a pretty good fight from a marketing standpoint.

may be wise for Klit to let Haye have a crack now rather than get used to being a heavyweight.

What Haye needs to do now is get a good win at heavyweight behind him, while Wlad is fighting Thompson and Povetkin. He shouldn't wait until fall, he should fight in the summer.

He does have a very good chin, but ring rust can be a factor and he isn't getting any younger.

              Exactly.

He's lacking in apparently creditable opponents. If he lets Haye run through the European contenders he'll lose eventually to a Virchis or Chagaev. Wlad needs to beat them to it.

More importantly this opens the British market to Wlad. Wlad knows his fights haven't been aired in the UK, and the only way he can fix that is by beating Haye.

You think Wlad will have to make sure HBO get involved with Haye first? If that's the plan, any lead-up fights from Haye will be against old Americans: Rahman, Toney, Holyfield, etc

Most likely. Haye needs a bum with a name to look good against in front of the general public if they want to sell this fight in America. Haye needs to have a highlight reel ko. And Wlad is booked as it is with povetkin and thompson, so Haye should not waste his time.

i gotta admire Haye's eagerness to jump in with Klitschko. i mean not every heavyweight out there, let alone a cruiserweight, is anxious enough to share the ring with 6'6 240 pound monster. david may be whistling in the dark but he definetly wants this fight made.

but he definetly needs tune up fights. if it was ibragimov who was ruiling the nest then the transition would have been simple for haye, klitschko demands preparation
