Oscar De La Hoya career nears its end...

Will you be happy or sad to see oscar go into retirement (regardless if he wins; loses; earns a draw in the remainder of his fights)?

He's had a great career no doubt about it.

If he can win down the stretch here in 08 (to end his career) it would be huge and he'd have a legit arguement for top p4p fighter (should he beat forbes; mayweather and then cotto as he's been talking about).

that would be quite an accomplishment...do i think he'll win all 3...no...i can see him beating forbes for sure but i dont know if he can get past BOTH mayweather and cotto at this stage in his career (since he's out of his prime).

and whats your opinion of floyd sr. training oscar for the mayweather fight?

floyd sr. said its because, "he's the best trainer in the world". I dont think so...not by a long shot...not even out of just the current trainers...

but i DO think he's the best trainer for this fight...

i dont think oscar could do any better than having the father of the guy he's fighting (who he helped shape into the fighter he is today).

    your thoughts?

He's been my favorite fighter since '92, so it will be sad to see him hang them up. At the end of the day, he's got nothing to be ashamed about. I just wish a Trinidad rematch would have happened a long time ago. I wish he would have trained harder for the Sturm fight. Last, I wish he would've KO'd Mayweather. All will be forgotten though if he fights Cotto and beats him.
