Roy was called out Marcus Beyer of all people because he knows that he will lose to a young guy. Beyer is shot and past his prime as well. Roy is not ****** by no means and he knows this

You don't really believe that, as you are a huge Jones fan and is just being stubborn. But in your last post you showed the ability to be reasonable so thats good.

Nope, the same Tarver that was weight drained and was coming down from 200+ LBS to fight Hopkins. Plus Tarver was fighting one of the craftiness boxers of all time that was only slightly past him prime at that point. Peak Jones beats all of them but losses to all of them at the moment. He sits on the ropes because he lacks stamina and that would critical when fighting a young hard puncher that could win the fight by simply throwing punches.

            i am reasonable.. son.

I know roy isnt what he used to be.

I know his legs dont move like they used to move, and that his lateral movement isnt quite there anymore... which is why I give credit to a veteran fighter for switching his style up this late in the game... Hold your hands up winky style.. so you can see all the punches coming in and try to block them, instead of using slowed reflexes to move out of the way with your chin hanging there...

It takes a lot for someone whose been fighting one way there entire career to switch things up, because they realize they cant quite do it like they used to do it.

Work rate, will absolutely goto Joe... But what Bernard showed is that a great counter puncher will slow anyones work rate down. In my humble opinion.. Roys hands are faster, more accurate, and more powerful than Bernards... I say more powerful because hes been at this weight for almost 10 years now... where as 3 fights ago Bernard was a middleweight.

Hand speed, Accuracy, and Power, all go to Roy... and this is what off sets Joe's workrate... Fast hard hands that can hit you at any time, is a problem for a volume puncher.

Chin, I would give this edge to Joe... obviously with Joe coming up in weight, hes going to have bigger more powerful guys hitting him... and it showed that in the Bernard fight... although I realize it was a flash knockdown... but still.

Also, Joe is going to be 37... obviously Roy is the more aged fighter, hes not TOO much more aged than Joe... Joe is also not a big puncher like Antonio tarver is.. hes more of a volume puncher... and volumes of punches leaves volumes of openings...

Joe has the edge in the fightt, Roy is the underdog... Roy should lose this fight... But I believe, coming from a fan, that he will surprise a lot of people... i truly, truly do...

When the bell rings... it doesnt matter what your record is... its the blue corner vs the red corner.

And that quote right there, is exactly why im not worried about roys chin anymore... for the same reason.

That video is footage of Jones at his best. I am one of the few that thinks that even prime Jones had a weak jaw. This guy was the only one to catch him and his legs turned into jelly. Since his reflexes, foot work and foot speed have slowed, he will be caught more often since he is exposed.

Even though he may have lost some of his athletic attributes and capabilities, I feel the wisdom he has gained from his experience can help him overcome the toughest challenge out there.
Calzaghe needs to stop messing around with these senior citizens of boxing.

I voted for Roy Jones jr because both him and Calzaghe seem to be on their way out so this may very well be our last chance to see a fight that should have but didn't happen for whatever reason to date. To me it's more of a toss up than zag and pavlik. I think roy jones has a unique enough style to maybe pull some ninja **** on Calzaghe.

Pavlik is still relatively young and has a game plan that doesn't exactly fit in to this scenario and given his current goals will provide us with some good fights in the middle weights. It's interesting people are calling for pavlik-calzaghe even though it would most likely take place in a division that pavlik isn't trying to establish himself in just yet.

So I guess what I mean is let the geezers go out on some good scraps and let the young fighters continue to gain experience and one day make super fights of their own.

Roy Jones because I want him to get one last shot and I don't want Kelly to lose so soon/have him stay at middle for like 5 defenses.

No vote from me. I'd be happy with either Pavlik or Jones.
