man, what a crappy HW show.

it's going to be entertaining, but it won't help the HW division get better.

like someone already said, probably a few McClines will be found, but that's it.

There are hundreds of HW fighters that could really use some help and support. Young boxers in need of a chance and who could actually make it.

Alot of people go on these reality shows solely because they want to use it as a stepping stone to achieve fame in another aspect of being famous - music - acting - TV star. They better have the BEST of the BEST picking and choosing the contestants.

There is already a boxer who meets that criteria: Derric Rossy from Boston College, and he didnt do too well when he stepped up

Derric Rossy had a successful career as a standout defensive end at Boston College. Friday, he'll put his 15-0 pro boxing mark on the line vs. Eddie Chambers (27-0), Joe Tessitore writes.

There is also Tom Zbikowski from Notre Dame (but i think he is more serious about football than boxing)

The next great American champ wont be a former football player. How about a show where they follow some decent amateurs or olympians?

this is sad. The winner is gonna think they are somethign special and as soon as they fight someone who was born to be a boxer they are going to get embarrassed

Even if you are a good athlete and get good training that isn't gonna make you a good fighter right away. It's something that's going to have to take quite a bit of time. So suspect that this show will just be another crappy reality show and the fighters or supposed fighters will not turn out to be anything.

who brought this to the table? Reality TV sells but Heavyweight boxing? This is a disaster...I wonder who will be the commentators on this...

Tommy Z had about 95 amateur fights with only about ten losses. This wasn't a stunt he pulled; he's a boxer and a football player, which is different than a football player boxing
