Not a great inverview for Joe in all honesty.
He's nicked a few of Hattons words, in I slipped as a joke, and what can I say. Still he's shown some character in other vids I guess.
Must've been very soon after the fight, he has a few bumps there which were hardly present at all at the post fight press conference, they must've gone down real quick. I'm willing to accept it's likely most are due to buts, but perhaps not all. However, oddly they're all on the right of Joes forehead, which would back it up; Nard was leaning forwards on Joes right side to avoid his harder quicker left hand shot, and it's where the bumps are so it's certainly valid though.
Hopkins didn't get a 6 minute break Joe, he was offered 5, and took approx 2. Ok this was still cheating as it clearly wasn't low, but watch your exaggerations mate.
If he knew Hops would be clinching so much, why did he not work on tactics to avoid it more? He only began adapting well post R4 and could've earlier with a gameplan on dealing with it, and got a clearer decision. He was too willing to be on the inside and in clinches instead of taking advantage, moving countering, and taking a shot akin to Floyd's KO on Hatton.
Anyways, I'm a massive Joe fan, but not biased and willing to be critical and objective. To end on a more positive note, I liked it when he said he didn't want to retaliate, and risk getting wound up, losing his composure, punished with points deductions etc. This shows he has class, a great boxing brain and patience to do what's needed to win.Last edited by Kris Silver; 04-23-2008, 06:14 PM.Comment
