Forbes: "I Will Spoil De La Hoya's Plans"

Steve Forbes is fully focused on spoiling the future plans of Oscar De La Hoya when they meet in the ring on May 3 in Carson, California. De La Hoya has selected Forbes as the tuneup opponent for his September rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr. The Forbes bout will also mark the return of Floyd Mayweather Sr. as the trainer to De La Hoya. Forbes, after a falling out with Roger Mayweather, retained the training services of the third Mayweather sibling, Jeff. [details]

Floyd 2 Fight Forbes If Victorious On May 3rd?

    http://www.t h e s w e e t s c i e n c e.com/boxing-article/5851/hoya-reloading-mayweather/

“It’s funny because it’s a win-win situation for the Mayweather family anyway,” said Forbes, who lived with the Mayweathers for a year in Las Vegas. “Roger told me if I beat him then Floyd Jr. will fight me.”...

“It’s perfect for me because my goal is to make that not happen,” said Forbes of De La Hoya’s plans. “He’s looking ahead. He says he’s not, but he’s looking ahead.”

De La Hoya is not smiling because he knows there is no such thing as a tune up fight. “I stressed right from the beginning I’m not falling into that trap,” said De La Hoya who remembers nearly losing to Germany’s Felix Sturm when preparing to fight Bernard Hopkins four years ago. “I just feel with Floyd Sr. in my corner he has the antidote to beat Stevie Forbes, Floyd Mayweather Jr. and to beat whoever.”

I hope Forbes wins. he's a good guy and he deserves it. I'm sure he's still bitter over his robbery loss to D-Hop at a GBP event. And nobody wants to see PBF v DLH 2 anyway. If he wins Floyd's gotta face a real challenge in Septemeber.

This fight is meaningless!! Unless Dela Hoya has lost all his skills completely the bloated Stevie Forbes will be nothing more than a workout for Dela Hoya. I think the upset would be if Forbes can last the full 10 rounds, period!!! Forbes should be spending all his time doing roadwork for this one so he can RUN!, RUN!, RUN!. Problem with that is if he does to much roadwork the 130lb fighter locked inside will come out at the weigh-in and it would look like the Golden Boy was fighting a 6th grader. Forbes has to stay fat to make the size difference do-able.

Steve Forbes is one of the true nice guys of boxing. His boxing IQ is through the roof. That said, he has an uphill battle because of the size disparity between the two.

Prediction the bigger guy DLH knocks out the little guy Forbes, or Forbes outbox him for 12 rounds and.........GETS ROBBED Oscar wins a "split decision". WIN-WIN situation.

If Mayweather fights Forbes id watch, but it would be DISGUSTING if mayweather fought Forbes over Cotto. It would get a lot of press because Forbes would be like the big underdog again, but he upset DLH so...

But it'll never happen. He wont win.
