    Calzaghe Vs Hopkins was ruined....

By Hopkins negativity and refusal to engage and fight.
He may have run away clinched and used his "mad skillz" at avoiding much contact.
But the truth is that is not superior Boxing skill.
That is very good evasisveness and not what Boxing is about.

    pretty forgettable fight really.

    I've not watched it again.

I knew it would be boring. Joe needs guys to come to him to have exciting fights it's always been that way.

      i agree

it is one thing to show superior ring craft /ring Generlship but it is another thing to avoid contact & throw sinlge shots to make it to the 12th bell unscathed

Calzaghe won the fight because Hopkins tried to steal it

I'm watching it again now and I can't believe I was so worried about it, Calzaghe won easily after the 8th round. It was proved by the "low blow".

I still think the "knockdown" was BS, if you watch Hopkins actually hooks Joe's arm while steamrolling him. They show Joe's nose about 5-10 seconds after that punch and there's not a drop of blood on it, pretty sure the cut came from a later headbutt.

The breather that Hopkins got from pulling Calzaghe's head down, causing Joe to cuff him low in an attempt to keep his balance, allowed him to win the 10th, otherwise the last two thirds of the fight would have been a near shutout.

Does anyone have any exciting Hopkins fights?

The last two rounds were pretty entertaining in my opinion, I loved how Hopkins waved Calzaghe on to fight him and then immediately hugged him .

He did sort of ruin his street cred with the low blow acting as well, its one thing to be a dirty fighter, there is skill involved in it (even if it isn't everyone's cup of tea), but the acting was disappointing (I won't say cowardly, because you can't be a coward if you step into the boxing ring, you can be a cheat or a bully, but not a coward)
