A). Your chasing a pipe dream. Floyd won't fight a guy he has all physical attributes over two guys that he is at a severe disadvantage against?

B). Those wins won't make him greater than Pac...he's wasted his whole WW career against has-beens and smaller guys. Beat him and he'd be this generations best fighter. Avoid him and he will go down as history's biggest fraud. The media and fans are onto his games...

      and...

We all forgot...Floyd has never lost a fight, both real and imaginary!
Cotto contradicted himself in that interview he said. "He alway's runs and makes excuses for not fighting me" and then later claims "I never ask for opponents, I leave things in Bob Arum's hands".

So there you have it. Bob Arum promoted both of them at the same time when they were champions at 140 and he didnt make the fight because he wanted to keep Cotto undefeated for when Floyd left him. The only time when the fight could have happened was after Mayweather beat Hatton but Floyd needed time off. The "ducking" excuse means nothing because if Cotto had beaten Margarito and Pacquiao then Floyd would have fought him by now and you know that. Cotto only has himself to blame.

Mayweather messed up on the Pac fight, but how can you say Floyd ducked Cotto when Arum even went out of his way to block the fight and blatantly admit to it saying things like he didn't wanna put Cotto in with a business man when reporters asked him about the fight? This is a case of where neither guy wanted to fight each other, and I believe that's even true with Pac and Floyd up to an extent.

Co sign on this. If Mayweather was willing to fight the guy who destroyed Margarito, then why wouldn't he fight Cotto if Cotto would've done his part and beat Margarito like he was favored to do?

The only comment I've ever seen on record that shows Cotto wanted a Mayweather fight, but came conveniently after Mayweather KO'd Hatton and decided to take a break...

The Pac fight was two years after his retirement...the prime moment was before the Margarito fight, since Floyd was already done and Oscar was positioning himself to fight Cotto.

Its water under the bridge but there are many other talks where Cotto wishes May would fight, but I CBF to translate them from spanish.

Cotto doesn't really contradict himself, he states that Arum gets his opponents but Mayweather continues to evade a possible fight. Cotto would have fought Mayweather as an amateur if he could, he's built that way. Cotto fights any time and any body. The fact that he'd be willing to risk it all to fight Pacquaio, a fighter that doesn't suit him tells you all you need to know about Cotto's commitments to fighting anyone.

He has a much better chance beating Mayweather than Pacquiao yet he's willing to do it.

You really can't be believing what you just wrote?

A 39 year old, inactive Shane? The fidgety and unable to pull the trigger Shane...Mayweather should be more concerned with the fact that he didn't KO Shane's decrepit ass

And when Margarito and Cotto fought, Mayweather was already done and that winner was lining up to fight DLH. DLH obviously chose Pac over Margarito but that's irrelevant.

Cotto and Mayorga showed that Shane was already too old and too slow a couple years back...

                  Far more respect for Cotto.

Cotto never avoided anyone. The guy got pummelled against Manny but was man enough/****** enough to take him on again.

He beat guys bigger, taller, more experienced, and a few even as fast as him, so the same thing was said about him before he dismantled Corrales & Mosley...nothing new.

As far as your second part, I guess you weren't watching Mayweather fights as far back as 97, because if you were, then you would know that your statement is completely FALSE.

But continue to discredit him if it pleases you, but realize you'll be standing on the wrong side of history when his career is finished.

I only referenced his WW career.

His career pre-WW is decent enough, but he was on the come up and his choices were limited. He had no choice. He needed the tough fights to gain support. Once he gained his status, his choice of opponents have been less than meaningful.

At the end of the day, when you compare both resumes side by side...there really is no comparison. You can continue to discredit both Cotto and Pac, but I'm pretty sure that you too will be standing on the wrong side of history when their careers are finished.

If Mayweather never fights Pac, he will do no favors to himself...
