I think to say EVERY fighter just boxes for money, thats not true, when they started boxing they did it because they liked boxing, as they got bigger and landed big pay days they fell in love with the money.

I think Miguel Cotto truly fights because he loves boxing, Obviously he likes the money but its like he is just programmed to fight and thats what he does ... somebody probably opened his bank account for him and explained what a bank card was when he got his first payday.

Cotto appears to enjoy it, but said he doesn't really like boxing.
The Ring's year end issue for 2007, with Mayweather on the cover, quotes Cotto on this.
They asked him who his favorite fighter is and he said "I don't really like boxing, but I think Evander Holyfield is a warrior".
Maybe he meant he doesn't like boxing enough to follow it, but he's been in the audience in a few big fights.
