    The Difference Between A Fan & Fan-Boy!

I felt I had to "step up", so to speak & create this thread for other's to discuss! Now-A-Days, there are too many "fan-boys" (sometimes known as fanatics) who (the most credible site off all time) Wikipedia defines Fan-Boy as; an individual who is devoted to a single fannish subject, or to a single point of view within that subject, often to the point where it is considered an obsession. Fanboys remain loyal to their particular obsession. They are usually biased in their opinion/assesments & have difficulty "seeing both sides of a story" & can slightly exaggerate facts & figures. Usually whenever "competition" arrives, they also are quick to downplay and/or slander their counterpart. More than likely, this type of Person is not REAL & has trouble in this dept. in his or her everyday life... Ex. I have a PS3, so the X-Box 360 sucks, Floyd is the best ever, F**K everyone else (I've heard people say that), I'ma Lakers Fan, so Kobe should be the MVP, No question, etc. etc...

A Fan; (as webster so eloquently puts it) an enthusiastic devotee, follower, or admirer of a sport, pastime, celebrity, etc.: For the most part, this bunch is OBJECTIVE about their assessments & can have great DEBATES with other fans, even if they don't AGREE on the same subject/topic...Ex. I have a PS3, but the XBox360 is a good system as well, Floyd is my fav. fighter, but their were plenty of great fighters before him, I'ma Lakers Fan & hope Kobe gets it, but they're at least 3 people who can be considered in the "running"...

I've seen 2 many Fan-Boys (I wont say any names...yet) on this site, contradicting themselves, just to "sing another tune" the following week & running from the truth!

With this criteria, we should all be able to identify Fans & Fan-Boys & therefore make the concious effort not to get upset with some of the non-sense that is posted here & just to remember that they can't help who they are...

there are FAR more SERIOUS and SINCERE Mayweather stans here without a doubt, but there are also Cotto fans and Bhop fans that get carried away too. and Pacquiao stans, dont even get me started. I'm already expecting a full offensive attack from them since I typed the name in this post. I remember one day getting about 5-7 red karmas just for saying that Pac didnt whoop JMM's ass, only decision him.

The worst I've seen are with Roy Jones Jr & Floyd Jr...People thought Roy was really Superman (meaning he could have beaten any body at any time) until Tarver just made him Clark Kent... People TRULY believe Floyd can't be beat & there is NOBODY out to challenge him... To SOME people a win is a win...I was talking to my boy & I asked him if I beat him in B-Ball by 1 point is a that a whippin/masacre? He said YES! So with some people, I GUESS it's just their terminology that is confusing...

Nobody believes that. Even the ones who say that are only faking it playing their role in here. I'm a Floyd fan and I thought 2 years ago, Winky Wright would have beaten him. For a while I thought Paul Williams would have beaten him until a lesser boxer in Quintana showed me otherwise.

Right now I don't believe Cotto would beat him and while we're at it taking a better look at Joe Calzaghe's style, I think Floyd might outpoint him as well if they met at 161 catch weight.

It's all a matter of style. Styles make fights.
