To his credit, when Valero did face the only Ring Magazine ranked SFW he has fought, he looked good. (Vicente Mosquera)
Yeah he did, but I would even say guys like Juarez and Barrios are way better than Mosquera. Those guys aren't even the elite of the divsion and I think once Valero steps into that realm it's going to be a rude awakening.

Texas just cleared him to fight in Texas. I understand him if he fights in Japan again but he should have his next fight in the Lone Star state.

Khan wants to come to America so he can get exposed like Hamed. Calzaghe got lucky he caught BHop while he was old.

you guys are idiots and obviously know nothing about him
he had a slugfest with vicente mosquera to win the title. mosquera was arguably top 5. since then he's fought nobuhito honmo who unknown to you guys because he's japanese, is actually a decent fighter. the guy he's fighting next is as well. it's not his fault the wba mandatory didnt have a name you knew, and pulled out of the fight. i'm sure once he's in america he will be able to knock out names that you guys have heard of also

if you do some basic boxrec research you can see that mosquera beat a guy named nantanchai for the belt who was undefeated in about 30 fights..... and made a defense or two before fighting valero.... nantanchai hasn't lost since against limited opposition.... but what do you expect valero to do from japan..... if he comes to the states... and by mid 09 hasnt faced the top of the division then its time to complain about him

To me Valero just seems open to hit and throws wild punches. Im not saying those Japanese fighters are not good, but we know who the best in the SFW division are, Marquez, Guzman, and Soto. Valero's power will always give him in chance. After this fight he should have a high quality fight in Texas and see if he is for real or not.

valero is quite impressive with a 23-0 win-loss record, all by KO's but his opponents were all unknown. he should prove his worth by fighting credible fighters.

but never tell that to marco antonio barrera. barrera believes in his heart that valero has all that it takes to beat pacquiao.

entonces, marco already concede defeat to valero, even without a fight.

at the least now that he is cleared, he should have fought in the US, to make future fights with top SFW more marketable/plausible...

Valero's buzz has cooled a bit.
