Floyd has a resume that consist of Hernandez, Diego, Castillo twice, Gatti, Judah, Mitchell, Hatton & soon to be Oscar twice. Before Floyd beat Hatton who was undefeated in 43 fights & ranked #8 P4P by the Ring magazine he beat 3 men in a row who all held the linear REAL WW title. Baldomir, Judah, & Oscar.

BTW Floyd started fighting at 130. But no one seems to ever mention this. The author of this thread just came with more of the same trying to discredit the career of the great Hall of Famer Floyd Money Mayweather.

I am not trying to discredit anybody and as I mentioned in the initial post.. what he did in previous weight classes has nothing to do with what he is doing in the welterweight division now! I am not questioning his legacy or his record over all I am questioning his claim at being the number one welterweight.. if you weren't so small minded you would see that..
BTW Oscar wasn't Linear anything when Mayweather fought him and trying to say that a win against Oscar now over a win over Oscar in his welterweight days is the same is crazy..

What does starting at 130 have to do with what he's doing, or better yet, NOT doing at 147? U act as if Floyd is the first and ONLY fighter to ever move up in weight to fight at a higher weight class.

great thread and i agree 100%. mayweather's attitude as the P4P fighter is disgraceful. he's got all the opportunities and chances laid out in front of him, the kind of opportuntiies that would bring major stock in him, in terms of who he faced. he dismisses those opportunities with worthless excuses which are not really interesting. we know he says that cotto is not a draw, we know that he says he's got nothing to prove, but we also know that his talk is bull****.

there's a hypocrite in floyd that many dont notice, certainly not his fans. he said the same thing about hatton, yet he chose to fight him. he said hatton doesnt have a fanbase in america, no one knows him except for brits, and that he hasnt beat anyone worth mentioning. in fact he said that he already lost to collazo. but all that didnt stop mayweather from fighting a guy who had looked horrible in his one and only fight at 147 pounds.

he's been saying the same things about cotto that he did against hatton, yet he's not as fast on the trigger.

Pac started at 106, and is now fighting at 135. Oscar started at 135 and has fought as high as 160. Floyd moves up, and people wanna make a big stink about it. I dont get it.

Floyd's resume is lightyears ahead of Cotto's, I know your talking about his welterweight period, but there arent many fighters that fight EVERY PERSON in EVERY WEIGHT CLASS there in.

Think of it this way, since many of you feel Miguel is so fantastic, can he start and win titles at 130? With his chin and weight problems at 140 whats he gonna do against Guzman, Pac, and Marquez? What about 135 with prime Castillo who hits like a rock and had an iron chin?

Yes, Mayweather's career is light years away from Cotto.. Cotto started like 7years after Mayweather made his pro debut though.
Who said anything about Miguel getting down to 130? You do know that as a child Cotto was the same weight he is now because he was fat don't you?
Btw I predict that later on in his career Cotto moves up to Middlweight so what does him not fightin at 130 matter?
