Joe Calzaghe, who last Saturday decisioned recognized light heavyweight champ Bernard Hopkins, is calling himself the legend killer. Calzaghe's victory will probably send Hopkins, 43, into retirement, but the Welsh fighter is not that far behind. He would like to fight one more time, hopefully against Roy Jones Jr, and then retire undefeated. [details]

the fact of the matter is history will say that Calzaghe beat a 43 year old hopkins getting knocked down in the 1st and winning a close decision... Legend killer? no book will ever say that and that's not even arguable. Calzaghe is good and deserves some credit but that does not change the fact it will go down in history as a win that he recieves little credit for.Comment

you usually kill a "legend" when they are at the peak of their power, ruling their nest, not when they are one fight removed from retirement. when it's all said and done, calzaghe did beat hopkins, a win is a win, but people will always say that b-hop was already at the end. calzaghe beat a former legend, not the legendLast edited by Boogie Nights; 04-21-2008, 09:55 AM.Comment

He will A: Not beat Roy. and B: He would never beat the "****e" out of Pavlik. I doubt he would even beat Pavlik. Both fights are blockbuster and I hope they come off. I'm a Jones fan and still beleive that he is too fast for Calzaghe.Comment
