A PRIME HOPKINS was almost a decade ago...

And he is STILL fighting the best fighters in the game and handing in there with them. Hell, it looked like he was gonna outclass Calzaghe after the first rounds.

He is a freak of nature. I think he is a top 50 ATG for this reason.

Imagine, over a decade ago this man was beating the living crap outta Glenn Johnson, who just recently almost beat Chad Dawson.

Then about 4 years late he was kicking the **** outta Trinidad. And then 7 years after that he is haning in there with Joe Calzaghe.

    Thats just incredible.

He had a long ass prime. It was like 6 years that HOpkins was considered at his peak, at least IMO

Agreed. Hopkins is ATG...no question. But, he couldn't deal with Calzaghe because his offense is long gone. Ten years ago, last night's fight would have been a beauty with Hop probably winning a close decision. Nevertheless, I can't take anything away from Calzaghe because Hop is still at the top of his game on defense and Calzaghe was able to expose him for the first time.

Yep I agree , I said before the fight its a no win for Joe and he should not have taken this fight , he would have to flog Hopkins like Lacy to get any credit out of it and wernt gunna happen because BHop is real not like Lacy whio was riding on hype , being decked and cut and given a split was not the win Joe wanted , I think it showed Joe up a little , if Bhop can do so well at this stage of his game it doesnt take much to figure what happens near Bhops prime years .

Reverse it Bhop is 35 and Cal is 43 ,, my money is on Hopkins to KO him .

It will take TIME for people to recognize Joe, Good things come to those who wait, just like Bernard did .. he is looked at as a legend NOW .. in his prime he wasn't .. to me .. Bernard hopkins is a boxing icon, i might be young but i remember playing on fight night 2004 when i was 14, didn't know **** about boxing, thinking he was old THEN .. and he still goes on, fighting the best, taking the biggest challenges .. he is probably the most technically sound fighter of today and the best AT FORTY THREE YEARDS OLD of all time .. find me a fighter who at 43 is better than hopkins is at 43?
