if he fights and defeats roy jones jr than he should retire. there would nothing else left for him to do. that is unless he chooses to fight the other light heavyweight champions.
Yes, I think Joe will retire undefeated. There really isn't anyone left out there to beat him now, but he'd better be quick. At 36 he is at the upper age limit for a truly elite boxer IMO and if he waits too long he will start to slide.
RJJ is a shell of his former self and he is not much older than Joe.
What Joe has going for him is that most of the fighters he could fight are even older than he is, like RJJ and Tarver, or simply not as good, like Dawson and Pavlik.
All things being well, he should do it, yes.
