Is Calzaghe PPV Marketable in the U.S?

I assume his next fight will be against Roy Jones. That will Def. be on ppv. It would probably do well due to Roy Jones. But what about against lets say Kelly Pavlik? Pavlik-Taylor had horrible ppv numbers in the 2nd fight. Outside of Youngstown Ohio and The Uk do the money generating fans know about these guys?

Might be too little too late for that.

I think Calzaghe can be exciting with a cooperating fighter. Pavlik-Calzaghe would be fireworks IMO, but how many people will know since they probably never heard of them.

            Agree with texanballer.

The right fighter, ie. a reasonably offensively minded one who isn't going to clinch at every opportunity, & it should be a very good fight.

PPV numbers in the US depend mostly on a big name US opponent, though, which means Jones or Pavlik.

Personally wouldn't mind seeing him against Glen Johnson, which might be the most exciting fight going at Light-Heavy, but doubt HBO would put up the money for it.
Might do moderately well if they made it a cut price PPV in the US, with most of the money coming from European rebroadcasting rights.

Also, Calzaghe's probably only got a couple of fights left in him, & if the Pavlik fight doesn't look like being signed & delivered in the next 6 months, it'll probably be Jones & retirement.
