Hopkins is a hypocrite and deserves no respect

He insists he won against Calzaghe when he was outlanded in EVERY SINGLE ROUND.

He fights the whole fight going backwards and only throws about 30 punches a round.

Yet, when his boy Oscar fought Floyd, he says he knows Oscar won.

What Oscar did was a ****ty version of what Calzaghe did. Oscar just went forward and was picked apart. He threw more punches than Floyd in every round but was not able to outland him in any point of the fight.

How is it possible that Floyd can fight going back, outland Oscar, and lose, but B-Hop can fight going back, get outlanded in every round, and win?

Hopkins is a black ****** and he does not like White people, which is only natural for someone of his character.

I do not care what comes out of his silly mouth.

I am just glad he was not victorious over "the white boy".

Hopkins deserves a lot of respect. His trash talk was just that, trash talk to help sell the fight, it worked.

Hopkins, though he lost, was incredible in that fight. He made Joe fight his fight and made Joe look average. To do that, at 43, to Joe Calzaghe is amazing, and I for one now understand why so many people picked him to win.

Hopkins does deserve respect for being such a great fighter.

        Of course he does.

I just think he is a silly, unintelligent man. He claimed recently that it was minus 30 degrees centigrade in London and he is just generally a moron.

I do not think boxing fans should try to understand or justify 'business' (as in the case of 'Mayweather should fight low risk/high reward because it's good business')...

But during pre-fight hype (for example, Hopkins saying 'I would never lose to a white boy' and Mayorga saying 'I'll send Cory Spinks to meet his mother in heaven') and situations like this (Oscar's business partner Hopkins complimenting his performance against Floyd to set up a rematch with Mayweather) I sure hope they would.

I really doubt Hopkins actually thinks De La Hoya won that fight against Floyd (or that he even cares) nor do I think he believes all whites are inferior, it's all simply for promoting a fight. Yes, he is a hypocrite and a liar but it's understandable.
Fights like Hopkins vs Calzaghe and De La Hoya vs Mayweather II need all the hype they can get... because the fights will disappoint.

Very true. It's impossible to think Oscar won more than 4 rounds against Floyd and not have Calzaghe at least winning.
