The only time I saw Joe even stunned was from a vicious headbutt in the center of the ring. I am surprised that he didn't get cut from that butt. It was probably the hardest butt I have ever seen. Calzaghe appeared dazed for a few seconds.

It wasn't easy - B-Hop pulled a lot of tricks out of his bag - but Joe adapted and clearly won.

Calzaghe landed 100 more punches. Calzaghe landed more blows against Hopkins than any other boxer...including Roid Jones, Jr.

With the exception of the flash knockdown in round 1, it was just another typical Calzaghe win. Hopkins is one of the greatest middleweights of all time, but he got strafed tonight. Furthermore, Bernard lost his composure. He knew he was losing the fight. He clearly attempted to garner a penalty point for a suspect low blow and he staged discomforture to get a breather.

Nobody expects Hopkins to admit he was beaten, but he let alot of his fans down because he didn't give Calzaghe any credit whatsoever.

In the end, it was a case of poor sportsmanship. Maybe it had something to do with his pre-fight comment.

Anyway, if Bernard Hopkins cannot figure out Calzaghe's ambidextrous style, it is doubtful anybody will. Calzaghe may very well end up retiring as undefeated champion.

by your logic 2 right hands dont win a fight so zero does? cause thats how many good punches calzaghe landed. were you impressed by his off balance ineffective windmill punches more than clean punches by hopkins?

I can't believe everyone is soo dissapointed w/ Joe's performance.....Bernard headbutted and excessively held all night (last three rounds he was holding and was never go to let go if it wasnt for the referee peeling hopkins off of Calzaghe..) Bernard was obviously one size larger in a weight class that he (Calzaghe) never has fought in...and it was the first time he has ever fought in the U.S.......he started off slow but who could blame him? Also besides the excessive holding and headbutting Bernard Hopkins is one of if not the best defensive fighters in the game......i do not think this was a performance to be ashamed of given the conditions and the tactics employeed by Hopkins
