that **** was there for the taking. Hop kept putting his head down but with his gloves to the side. Joe C could have countered Hop's right hand with an uppercut but I guess that isnt his game.
I'm surprised that Joe C never threw an uppercut

Joe sucks, thats why he didnt throw it. I cant believe this guy got to where he is at by slapping so much. He knew himself that he didnt win that fight. -
Stepping back against a lunging, unbalanced opponent shouldn't be too hard for an elite fighter. Joe was dissapointing tonight. He could have won much easier.
And the uppercut IS a part of his game, usually. He murdered Lacy with them inside.Comment

Yea I tought the step back-left counter uppercut would be the punch he'd kill Nard with.
But he needed to stay on the front foot; when fighters come at him he'll fight like that (with uppercuts and movement). Against Nard he needed to pressure constantly and couldn't concede that kind of ground.
He did the right thing. He knew he had control of the fight from the fourth or fifth round. You could see his confident body language but also his caution, as if the rounds were to be won so long as he didn't get too ambitiousComment

He didn't have to neccesarily put a break into his pressure. Dodging a right hand and falling into a clinch would disrupt his constant pressure much more than stepping back and throwing the uppercut.Yea I tought the step back-left counter uppercut would be the punch he'd kill Nard with.
