Most of those punches (many of them 'pitty pats') landed on Hopkins' shoulders, arms and the body. Few clean shots landed on Hopkins and you can see it on his face, not a mark on it.

Calzaghe got the victory, deservedly so by outworking the older man and he made the right adjustments to avoid taking Hopkins' counter rights all night. But the punch stats do not tell the whole story.

Was an interesting stat that Cal landed only 6 or so jabs out out better than 60 thrown in the first 4 rounds , I think he never landed a jab first 3 rounds , Cals jab hardly touched him all night .

Joe pushed the action and Hopkins tried to slow it down, and find that one punch. Calazaghe doesn't hit hard but his flurries are overwhelming, and you have to give credit for such a work rate.

Hopkins landed 11 Jabs in the fight. This happens if you have 2 masters of the defense.

I thought Joe would need to be more accurate to win but you can't discount the punch output he showed off. He wasn't landing hard at all but he was landin a lot more, so I can live with the decision. At least it wasn't like the Taylor fights when the guy was throwin and not even landin **** but still got the nod over B-Hop.

Joe Calzaghe had the better offense(speed, some power) and a pretty good defense. Bernard had an awful offense(good power, didn't land enough), Great Defense... Hopkins has one of the best defenses in this sport, and I think Calzaghe fought a prime defense Hopkins compared to the Hopkins Roy Jones Jr fought. Hopkins is like old whine in the department of defense
