      Calzaghe would win.

      This one is a no-brainer.

=squealpiggy;3384179]Dawson doesn't have enough power to keep Calzaghe honest
Actually he does, he punches harder than both Lacy and Kessler and on top of that, he is a pure boxer puncher with power. He can not only bring the fight to Calzaghe, but he can also out box him from a distance. Nullifying his foot speed and work rate by making Joe to come to him and counter effectively, similar to the way Hopkins did. He would take advantage of Joe's bad balance after he throws and offset him by out thinking him. Chad Dawson by unanimous decision.

People are quick to pick Calzaghe when they do not even pay attention to the fact that Calzaghe has never fought a southpaw in his entire professional career. Dawson has beaten 6 southpaws and stopped half of them. It would be the wrong time to fight a southpaw as offensively sound, defensively and technical as Chad Dawson. He would be too much for Calzaghe.

You can type your posts in bold if you like but it doesn't change the fact that Dawson doesn't have that one-punch power that he would need to stop Calzaghe punching. Won't you yanks realize that keeping your lead hand really low doesn't in and of itself make you a slick counterpuncher?

Sorry Slick, but your boy Dawson just got his ass beat by a slow 39 year old past his prime fighter with 12 losses in Johnson...Dawson is not in Joey Cal's league, Calzaghe would embarrass Dawson and possibly evem knock him out with a hard straight left to Dawson's chin.

Calzaghe by UD or embarassing KO over "Sad" Chad Dawson

Calzaghe would slap Dawson all over the ring.

Dawson is to technically sound for Calzaghe and even if i wasn't a fan of Dawson, then i would still say it because its apparent. Dawson is superior to Calzaghe in every area. Quicker hands, better defense, reflexes, far better power, better out boxer, bigger, taller and with longer reach. He knows how to use his size to his advantage. Calzaghe stated today that he prefers his opponents to come straight forward and Joe would be the aggressor. Dawson would sit back and wait for Calzaghe to come in, then he would counter him with straight left hands and right hooks. Like i have said, its the wrong time to fight a southpaw when you haven't in your entire career. Out of all the southpaws, this is the wrong one to fight for the first time and Adamek found that out the hard way. I am not comparing Calzaghe to Adamek, but Dawson was the first southpaws that he fought and you seen the result. He does not have any experience with fighting them. Also, Johnson is orthodox and a pressure fighter. Calzaghe's game is to force his speed and ability to brawl on his opponent, two completely different fighters. Calzaghe also ducked Johnson.

Also, Dawson's showed a solid chin against Johnson. Calzaghe's doesn't put snap on his shots so your chin case wouldn't come into play.

You really haven't seen Dawson fight have you? If not, then please don't respond to threads about a fantasy match up. You probably seen the Johnson fight and took out any bad things that you saw, as opposed to someone that has actually analyzed his fights and have attended most of his recent ones. He has lots of power and is a very accurate puncher who has tremendous boxing talent and speed. He is also a counter puncher as well, which is what convinces me that you have no clue who Chad Dawson is. watch him fight first and then come back.

Calzaghe is too fast, too experienced, and too awkward for young Chad. Cal by UD.

You see how much less authoritative it looks in regular type?
