I think it's not comparable, totally different strategy. Mayweather throws about 20-30 punches a round, but he almost always connects and barely ever gets hit. Joe on the other hand averages 100 punches a round and lands less than half of them. I'm a huge fan of Mayweather but I think Joe's strategy is perfect for beating Mayweather.
Joe Calzaghe will never lose a decision

Yeah. I figure that someone will beat him if they win more rounds than he does. Hopkins didnt.if judges base fights on just punches thrown and landed like tonight, its impossible for him to lose a decision, do yall see anyway he can? He got beat up tonight, can possibly get knocked out, but with incompitent judging i dont see him ever losing a decision because of his workrate, do yall agree? Ill give him props for coming to America and hanging with one of the best ever, this isnt a hating thread. Im not trying to talk about tonights fight, im just saying based on that is there anyway he can lose a decision.Comment

No you can't. Floyd pot shots at times. But he isn't anything like Cal. Joe throws just to throw. Floyd throws with intent. And is by far more accurate. That's probably the worst comparison to throw out there.Comment

stop making excuses for Gayweather
fact is, Floyd throws and throws but his punches rarely hurt unless a fighter runs into them like Hatton did (due to Cortez's constant breaking up)
Joe's punches are effective, Mayweather's are pitter patters.Comment

Joe was nowhere near being knocked out at any time in that fight.if judges base fights on just punches thrown and landed like tonight, its impossible for him to lose a decision, do yall see anyway he can? As to whether he could lose a decision, of course he can. Imagine he fought someone who stifled his game like Hopkins did, but also threw plenty of punches back.
A more active Hopkins would have won that fight IMO. He lost because if he did anything in the fight, he stopped Joe from boxing his own way, but that was all he did, after the opening rounds.
